A Brief Overview Accountable for providing high qualityprofessional care to patients and families under the supervision ofthe Surgery Leader and/or Surgeon within the surgical suites andother clinical areas within their scope of practice. What you willdo Assists surgeon within the scope of competency and standards ofpractice. Utilizes techniques of infection control/universalprecautions. Washes and sterilizes equipment and keeps a cleanoperating room. Rotates in SPD area cleaning & sterilizinginstruments for OR, floors, ER, & clinics. Updates preference cardsto ensure all team members can perform procedures as per surgeonrequests. Complies with regulatory requirements, policies,procedure, and standards of practice. Verifies patient identity.
Verifies operative procedure, operative site, surgeon, and consent.
Applies and monitors the principles of aseptic technique throughoutthe intraoperative period. Performs sponge, needle and instrumentcounts according to policy procedure. Participates in theevaluation of new supplies, equipment and/or instruments. Placesequipment and supplies in operating room and arranges instrumentsaccording to instructions. Essential Qualifications The individualmust be able to work the hours specified. To perform this jobsuccessfully, an individual must be able to perform each essentialjob function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequateto perform position duties and the ability to communicateeffectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speechand other sounds. Required Education,License/Certification, or Work Experience:
Technical CertificateGraduate from an Accredited Surgical Technologist Program CertifiedSurgical Tech (CST) – National Board of Surgical Technology andSurgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
Upon Hire Preferred Education,License/Certification, or Work Experience:
