Job Summary:

The Surgical Technologist at our Ambulatory Surgery Center is responsible for preparing the operating room, instruments, and supplies for surgical procedures, and assisting the surgical team during operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and success of outpatient surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare operating rooms for surgery by setting up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions. Ensure all needed equipment is sterile, functioning, and available. Assist surgeons and other medical personnel during procedures by passing instruments and supplies, maintaining a sterile environment. Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery. Monitor and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures. Handle specimens properly and deliver to the appropriate department. Clean and restock operating rooms after procedures. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes. Comply with infection control, safety procedures, and regulatory standards. ASC Qualifications:

Education:

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.

Certification:

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred or required depending on state regulations.

Experience:

Previous surgical tech experience in an ASC or hospital OR preferred.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
