QUALIFICATIONS
- Two years minimum oftotal surgical tech experience
- One year minimum of experiencewithin the last three years (specific jobs may require more)
- Anactive credential by the NBSTA or NCCT (CST, CSFA, or TS-C will berequired depending on job)
- RN degree from an accreditedregistered nurse program

They preparesurgical equipment and help surgical assists and surgeons before,during, and after a surgical procedure. Some on-the-jobresponsibilities may include, but are not limited to: coordinatingwith multidisciplinary facility team to assess, plan, implement,and evaluate patient care plans, maintaining accurate, detailedreports and records, and providing individualized, non-judgemental,non-discriminatory care to all patients, families, and staff. Toapply as a surgical technologist with Nomad, you must have anactive National Board of Surgical Technology and SurgicalAssisting
- or National Center for Competency Testing-issuedcertification or active first assistant certification from NBSTSA,NCCSA or ABSA, as well as evidence of at least one year ofexperience as a Obstetrics and Gynecology surgical tech or firstassistant, and evidence of one year of experience within yourspecialty/modality within the past three years.
If you are notcertified, you must have at least 10 years of surgical techexperience, but it is ultimately up to each facility whether or notthey accept non-certified surgical techs. In addition, you musthave graduated from an accredited school within your discipline,and score 80% or higher on all Nomad Health competency exams.
