Howard County General Hospitalin Columbia, MD is hiring for Surgical Technicians.

Schedule:

Choice of either: 3-12s, 5 – 8s, or a combination Day shift: 36-40 hours per week On call requirements: 2 weekend calls (either a Saturday orSunday every 2 weeks), 1 holiday call (if applicable) and (1-2)3-7p or 7p-11p call/week. No night calls during the week. 13 week contract assignment

Pay Rate:

$50 Requirements Under the direction of an RN, the Surgical Tech will perform dutiesin the Operating Room to assist the surgical team, such asscrubbing on operative procedures, obtaining and preparinginstruments and equipment, and maintaining a clean and safesurgical environment. Performs all patient care activities as defined in the skillscompetency model with compassion, dignity, and respect. Maintains aseptic technique 100% of the time. Demonstrates proficiency in gowning and gloving. Consistently prepares appropriate supplies and equipment basedupon procedural and/or surgeon preference list. Checks equipment and instrumentation for proper function priorto procedure. Performs as first scrub. Prepares roomfor next patient. Prepares instruments for decontamination. Maintains safe and clean environment100% of the time. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent is required. BLS CPR certification is required. Completion of a Surgical Technologist training programincluding clinical experience is required. Minimum of 12 months experience as a Surgical Technician isrequired. Certified by The Association of Surgical Technologists, TheNational Board of Surgical Technology, or The Surgical AssistingLiaison Council Certificate of Surgical Technology ispreferred.
