JOB SUMMARY
Serve as a multi-functional member of the patient care team under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) Support the RN staff through regularly organizing and facilitating two or more functional roles of the patient care plan of which may include the following: Basic Patient Care Activities, Unit Secretary functions, performing 12 lead EKG’s. Accurately and promptly communicates with the nursing staff, patient, family, and patient care team as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs basic patient care activities as delegated including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and eating Reports abnormal assessment findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff Assists with keeping patient rooms stocked, clean and orderly. Performs clerical duties, aligned with nursing station activities Assist in the provision of patient care through performing 12 lead Electrocardiogram (EKG) studies Qualifications Minimum Education High school diploma or equivalent X Required Licensure and Certifications Must be licensed in the state of Georgia as a C.N.A., Medical Assistant, or EMT Basic Life Support required Minimum Work Experience One year of patient care experience in a hospital setting preferred Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
