We are a large, privately owned, primary care office located on the campus of St. Vincent’s in Birmingham. Our Ultrasound Techs maintain an individual schedule. They produce quality scans per the physician’s order and follow our protocols to create the patient reports for physician review. The ultrasound appointment slots are spaced at least 45 minutes apart and each schedule has an average of 10-11 patient tests per day.
Schedule:
Full-Time, Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. No weekends or major holidays, and no call. Overtime will sometimes occur but is not excessive for this position.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent. ARDMS certification or equivalent required. Registries/experience in the following modalities is preferred:
Echo, Abdominal, Vascular, and Small Parts Job Duties Include:
Operating ultrasound equipment to scan and record images according to physician’s order. Observing the screen during scans to ensure satisfactory images for diagnostic purposes, and making adjustments as required. Preparing and positioning patients for their ultrasound exam and explaining the procedure. Processing images from procedures and completing printed reports for interpretation by the physician. Performing exams such as Echo, Carotid, Abdominal Complete, Abdominal Vascular, Thyroid, LEV, and Renal.
