Job Summary:

/n An Ultrasound Technologist (General),also known as a Sonographer, performs diagnostic imaging proceduresusing ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images ofinternal organs, soft tissues, and blood flow. These images assistphysicians in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions.

The Ultrasound Technologist ensures patient safety, comfort, andthe proper operation of imaging equipment while maintaining a highstandard of care and professionalism. /n/n

Key Responsibilities:

/n/n

• Perform general ultrasound examinations, including abdominal,pelvic, obstetric, vascular, and small parts imaging, as ordered bythe physician. /n
• Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures byexplaining the process, answering questions, and positioning themcorrectly for optimal imaging. /n
• Operate ultrasound equipment tocapture diagnostic-quality images, adjusting settings as necessarybased on the patient’s condition and the area of study. /n
• Analyze images for quality and accuracy, documenting findings andpreparing preliminary technical reports for physician review. /n
• Recognize and identify normal and abnormal findings, ensuringproper documentation of relevant anatomy and pathology. /n
• Maintain and sanitize ultrasound equipment and transducersfollowing infection control protocols. /n
• Collaborate withradiologists and other healthcare professionals to providecomprehensive diagnostic information. /n
• Ensure patient safety byadhering to established procedures, including monitoring foradverse reactions and maintaining a safe environment. /n
• Maintainaccurate patient records and comply with all legal, ethical, andorganizational standards. /n
• Stay updated on advancements inultrasound technology and imaging techniques through continuingeducation.

Qualifications:

/n /n

• Education:

  Associate’s orBachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a relatedfield. /n

• Certification:

  /n /n

• Registered Diagnostic MedicalSonographer (RDMS) certification from the American Registry forDiagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent. /n
• Specialties in Abdomen (AB), Obstetrics/Gynecology (OB/GYN), orVascular Technology (RVT) are highly preferred. /n /n /n
