MFM Ultrasound Technician Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists of South Florida South Miami, FL Summary:

A maternal fetal medicine ultrasound technician, also known as a perinatal ultrasound technician, is a specialized medical professional who performs ultrasound examinations on pregnant women to assess the health and development of the fetus.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform obstetrical ultrasound examinations, including but not limited to transabdominal, transvaginal, and Doppler studies. Assisting MFM Physicians in procedures including but not limited to CVS and amniocentesis. 2. Operate ultrasound equipment to capture clear and accurate images of fetal structures, maternal anatomy, and related organs. 3. Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures, providing explanations and answering questions as needed. 4. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other relevant healthcare regulations, maintaining patient confidentiality and safety. 5. Preparing and documenting ultrasound report accurately. 6. Executes all varieties of obstetrical and gynecologic diagnostic ultrasound exams presently offered by the department; performs all examinations in accordance with American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) standards and department protocols; determines correct techniques to obtain images of the highest quality and resolution. 7. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret ultrasound findings. 8. Assist in the development and implementation of protocols for obstetric ultrasound examinations, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety guidelines. 9. Participate in quality assurance activities, including equipment maintenance, image quality assessment, and compliance with regulatory standards. 10. Stay current with advances in obstetric ultrasound technology and techniques through continuing education and professional development activities. 11. Performs related duties as required. 12. NT certification preferred but not required. 13. Preparing and setting up exam rooms. 14. Able to work as a team.

Qualifications:

1. ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification in OB/GYN and relevant specialties. 2. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. 3. In-depth knowledge of MFM ultrasound equipment operation. 4. Proficient in accurately documenting patient records and ultrasound images. 5. Detail-oriented and committed to upholding high standards of patient care, privacy, and safety. 6. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced MFM office environment. 7. Familiarity with MFM-specific regulations and compliance standards.
