• You Will Be ResponsibleFor:

Exam Supervision and Administration:

Consistently obtains the highest quality scans possible in relationto patient body habitus and/or NPO prep status as observed byRadiologists, Ultrasound Educator, and Ultrasound Manager. Followsproper exam protocols as outlined in department Policy andProcedure manual. Utilizes two patient identifiers to confirmpatient/exam accuracy before administering exam. Performs, properlydocuments, and reports all procedures in accordance withdepartmental policy. Adapts procedure to each patients medicalsituation obtaining all available necessary information for properinterpretation. Maintains patient confidentiality. /n /n•

Diagnostic Image Quality and Documentation:

Reviews all images onultrasound machine or Web and thoroughly fills out Ultrasoundworksheet in a timely manner. Re-scans patient as requested byRadiologist. Is open to critique of exams by Radiologist and/ordepartment Manager/Educator. Exhibits desire to learn and upgradeclinical skills. Maintains familiarity with new procedures. Assistswith clinical instructions and serves as a resource to lessexperienced employees. /n /n•

Personal Productivity andAccountability:

Completes exams in a timely manner. Properly andconsistently evaluates patient prep status and schedules examaccordingly. Coordinates acceptable patient throughput in either anIP and/or OP setting keeping the department on schedule andmaintaining desired productivity. Follows direction from Managerand Lead Sonographer. Keeps supervisor or manager informed andseeks assistance from appropriate individuals when confronted withcomplicated procedures to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Communicates and collaborates with multidisciplinary team.

Communicates abnormal findings to the reading physicians andnotifies the physicians of procedures to be interpreted. Maintainsa professional relationship with all customers. Communicates withpatients and family members appropriate to age and understanding./n /n•

Data Processing:

Utilizes computer system to update examstatus, cancel/update orders as needed. Ensures charges matchprocedure completed. Confirms proper exam/patient assignment at QCbefore releasing images to PACS for interpretation. Correctserroneous accession numbers in PACS when needed. Notifies RadiologyFacilitator (RF) and transmits required worksheet and requisitionfor all after-hours cases. Effective knowledge of all InformationSystems used in the Ultrasound department. Accurately documents,completes and charges procedures to ensure quality standards set bythe department and hospital. Follows all AdventHealth policies anddepartmental procedures outlines. /n /n/n /n/n /n Qualifications /n/n

• Ability to learn and master new tasks related to the computer andAGFA Pacs system /n /n
• Ability to communicate effectively andwork with people of various diverse backgrounds /n /n
• Basic EKGknowledge /n /n
• Ability to function independently with little orno supervision /n /n
• Graduate of Ultrasound Program /n /n
• BasicLife Support (BLS) certification /n /n
• ARDMS credentials toinclude: /n /n/n /n/n /n/n /n 1.

Registered Diagnostic MedicalSonographer RDMS (AB) and /n /n 2. Registered Diagnostic MedicalSonographer RDMS (OB/GYN) and /n /n 3. Registered VascularTechnology RVT (VT) /n /n/n /n/n /n

Preferred:

• Knowledge of PACS and associated equipment /n /n
• Goodorganizational skills /n /n
• Breast Sonography knowledge /n /n
• Pediatric and Neuro Sonography knowledge /n /n
