Role:

As an Ultrasound Technician at Humanitary Medical Center, you will play a crucial role in the diagnostic imaging team, utilizing advanced ultrasound technology to assist in the evaluation of patients’ health conditions. Your primary responsibility will be to perform high-quality ultrasound examinations, ensuring accurate imaging for physicians to make informed decisions regarding patient care. You will also be responsible for maintaining equipment, adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring a comfortable environment for patients during procedures. Collaboration with healthcare professionals will be essential, as you will provide insights based on your imaging results. Ultimately, your expertise will contribute significantly to the overall quality of care provided to our patients.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field. Certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). Proven experience in performing ultrasound examinations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Additional certifications in specialized areas such as vascular or cardiac sonography. Experience in a hospital or clinical setting.

Responsibilities:

Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients as per physician orders. Prepare and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring it is functioning properly. Provide clear instructions to patients and ensure their comfort during procedures. Document and report findings accurately to the medical team. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss imaging results and patient care plans.

Skills:

The required skills in ultrasound and medical imaging are essential for performing accurate and effective diagnostic procedures on patients. Proficiency in radiology and patient care ensures that you can provide a high level of service while maintaining patient comfort and safety. Knowledge of X-ray and nuclear medicine enhances your ability to collaborate with other imaging specialists, creating a comprehensive approach to patient diagnostics. Strong communication skills are vital for explaining procedures to patients and discussing findings with the medical team. Additionally, attention to detail and technical skills are crucial for operating imaging equipment and interpreting results accurately. The position will require for the technician to work 3 days at our HMC Lakeland location and 2 days a week to work at our HMC Winter Haven location.
