JobDescription Summary:

$15,000 SIGN-ON BONUS External applicants andnewly licensed internal applicants may be eligible for a $15,000sign-on bonus with a one-year work commitment. Previously employedapplicants who have been gone from the organization more than 90days may also be eligible. This position independently performsrequested ultrasound examinations, searching for any possiblepathology as indicated by the patient’s symptoms/medical historyand/or results from previous testing. He/She reviews and discussesthe ultrasound findings with the radiologist and a diagnosis ismade.

Responsibilities And Duties:

60% Performs various ultrasoundexaminations. Subjectively interprets information based onjudgmental decisions by Ultrasonographers, requiring in-depthknowledge of human anatomy, physiology and pathology. Maintainscomplete knowledge of wave form physics, i.e., , time gaincompensation curves, attenuation factors, etc. , required to setequipment variable properly for appropriate imaging of specificanatomy. Assists Radiologists with performance of invasiveprocedures. 10% Independently evaluates normal vs. abnormal testresults in correlation with patient history, previous examinations,lab results, etc. 10% Independently gives preliminary ultrasoundresults to attending physicians, surgeons, residents, etc.regarding any vascular ultrasound procedures as determined by siteaccreditation. 10% Teaches/educates imaging students, medicalstudents and residents in basic scanning methods andinstrumentation of ultrasound. 10% Maintains equipment and stockssupplies. Performs quality control procedures and maintainsdocumentation.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School or GED(Required)ARDMS

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists

Diagnostic MedicalSonography Additional Job Description:

1-2 yrs ultrasound trainingfrom an accredited training program. Must have passed the AmericanRegistry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Must havepassed the abdominal or OB/GYN and physics/instrumentation. 1-2 yrsprevious ultrasound experience (clinical training acceptable). BLSCertification.
