Ultrasonographer, Breast Care Center 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars Hyannis, MA 02601 Performs diagnostic breast sonograms, exercising professional judgment in performance of procedures and assist the Radiologist in conducting diagnostic examinations, requested by physicians.
Description :
1. Performs diagnostic breast sonograms, exercising professional judgment in performance of procedures and assist the Radiologist in conducting diagnostic examinations, requested by physician. 2. Receive and review requests for ultrasound studies. Provide explanation of procedures and answer pertinent questions of patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation. 3. Assumes care for physical and psychological needs of patients during examinations and procedures to insure safety and comfort while preparing for and while undergoing ultrasound procedures. 4. Assist provider with special ultrasound procedures/needle biopsies. 5. Works with the Radiologist to achieve accurate diagnosis and identify anatomical abnormalities. 6. Demonstrates autonomy, initiative, professionalism and the ability and willingness to problem solve. 7. Interprets mammography images and cross-sectional anatomy and relays Ultrasound findings to Radiologist. 8. Requisitions supplies and equipment, maintenance and repair services, and prepares related forms necessary for the continued operation of the department. 9. Coordinate work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency using and/or modifying established procedures, to assure timely completion of work in conformance with department policies and procedures. 10. Maintain a thorough knowledge of departmental and Hospital policies and procedures as they pertain to the job, including the fire and disaster plans. Comply with Infection Control policies and procedures. 11. Participates in activities which promote professional self-growth and development; meeting minimum requirements for continuing education. 12. Maintain an ethical relationship with patients, providers, co-workers and guests and insures patient confidentiality at all times. 13. Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers. 14. Performs other work related duties as assigned or requested.

7556 Graduate of an accredited School of Ultrasound Technology. (RDMS) Registered or registry eligible (must take and pass Registry within one calendar year after hire). Actively/currently scanning breasts in the past 2 years BLS within 3 months of position start date. Grade 17R –
CRVT or CVT, Job Code:
7219 RDMS registered technologists, trained in vascular ultrasound will receive grade 17R rate of pay when performing vascular procedures if time is equal to one or more averaged hours per week.

24 Hours per week, Rot Days, 7:30a -3:30p, 8a-4p,
