RAYUS Radiology is looking for an Vascular Technologist to join our team. As a Vascular Technologist, you are Responsible for noninvasive diagnostic peripheral artery and venous testing. Assists the department operations lead with technical direction, workflow improvement and various other functions as required. Provides patient care through assessment, physical evaluation and implementation of exam procedures. Maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times. Remains self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve.
This is a temporary (PRN) position working day shifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(85%) Vascular Non-invasive Testing
Conducts individualized patient assessment regarding ordered Vascular procedures
Work closely with clinical team performing a variety of complex exams including, but not limited to: upper and lower extremity arterial, upper and lower venous, venous insufficiency/vein mapping, ankle brachial indices (ABI), skin perfusion, air plethysmography, renal, visceral duplex, and hemodialysis access
Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination
Obtains and reviews the requisition for examination in order to be aware of information such as procedure requested, clinical history, patient condition or any other special requirements
Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images
Uses independent judgment during the exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings
Independently initiates additional ultrasound imaging procedures to facilitate optimum diagnostic results (e.g., endovaginal exam, Doppler, etc.)
Synthesizes and analyzes exam information and communicates findings to the appropriate provider
Maintains positive attitude and working relationships with radiologists, referring offices and other associates and peers
Converses with doctors, nurses, patients and family members as required
Accurately maintains patient records within defined systems
Provides interpreting provider with an oral or written summary of technical findings
Identifies problems, secures relevant data to identify possible causes; generates alternative courses of action and possible consequences
Assists with the daily operations of the vascular laboratory
Maintains an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients and co-workers
(10%) Operational Support
Demonstrates competency in the use of all departmental computers and diagnostic equipment
Demonstrates proficiency in departmental documentation practices and clerical functions
Demonstrates care of the Vascular lab equipment and environment of care
Participates in continuous quality improvements activities
Assists with training new associates, providing resource and technical expertise
Establishes and maintains ethical working relationships and good rapport with all interrelating partners and referring providers
Helps supervisor gain support for unit goals and plans
(5%) Performs other duties as assigned

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS
Required:

Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in the specialty(ies) as appropriate and advanced registry in Vascular

Preferred:

Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
Intraoperative experience
