As part of the ECU Health system of care, the hospital offers high quality care provided by more than 20 medical specialists, rehabilitation services, a birthing center, a cancer center, outpatient clinics and more. Position Summary A Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is a credentialed medical professional with academic and clinical experience to provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. The scope of practice includes those procedures, acts and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education and clinical experience and completed ARDMS or ARRT (US) registration, which is the standard of practice in Ultrasound. Minimum Requirements High school or equivalent (or higher)
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
ARDMS or ARRT (US) registration required (physics and one specialty exam

AB, OB/GYN

) or registry eligible with registration obtained within 18 months of date of hire
0 years of experience as US technologist (sonographer)

Clinical Ladder Other Information Primary Shift:

PRN (as needed) Includes call on Friday nights and possibly other nights
Includes picking up shifts as needed for evenings, weekends and days
