POSITION SUMMARY
To provide high quality Nuclear Medicineprocedures to our patients and physicians in a respectful andefficient manner while providing those services in a safe and cleanenvironment.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Formal Education /
Training:
Earned a Nuclear Medicine diploma or degree from a college oruniversity. Must be in compliance with CE Requirements. Must beCNMT or NMTCN eligible. BLS is required within 90 days of hire.
Workplace Experience:
Preference of at least one year of workexperience in hospital environment working in Nuclear Medicineafter graduation and accreditation; however, willing to train.
Equipment and Skills Training:
Will train on specific equipment andprocesses utilized at Williamson Medical Center.
PhysicalEnvironment:
Radiation safety and universal precautions practicedin a multi modality imaging department.
Physical Effort:
Possessesthe ability to perform multifunctional tasks to include: physicallymanipulate and operate equipment, assist in the movement ofpatients from wheelchairs and stretchers to table; bend, twist,stoop; lift 20 pounds; communicate clearly, both verbally and inwriting; make appropriate judgment decisions in urgent or emergencysituations; and demonstrate emotional stability and psychologicalhealth in day to day interaction with fellow employees, patients,their families, and physicians. Must be willing to take call forSTAT studies after hours and on weekends and must be availablewithin 30 minutes.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Checks patientidentification and physician order to ensure accuracy of requestbefore proceeding with study. Questions female patients (ages12-50) regarding the possibility of pregnancy and properlydocuments information in record. Communicates potential or existingproblems/opportunities to improve quality of care or services.
Strives to maintain the dignity of each patient by ensuring thepatient is properly covered at all times; during exam and patienttransport. Seeks opportunities to assist in other areas duringdowntime periods and always makes good use of time. Workingenvironment is clean, organized, well stocked, and free of clutter.
Follows nuclear medicine isotope procedure process during theadministration of an isotope. Shows leadership and teamwork indifficult situations and makes appropriate decisions. Implementsnew departmental procedures readily and without delay. Volunteersfor overtime and fill-in when needed. Ensures the safety ofpatients by following all safety procedures while moving patientsfrom wheelchair or stretcher to table and watching patient while ontable. Communicates and follows through with fellow employees toensure that all requests from physicians and patients arecompleted.
