Job Overview:

Vascular Technologist will review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information including patient history, lab results, and physician orders. Obtains necessary clinical information from patients and compares requisitions to physicians orders to ensure exam accuracy.

Qualifications:
Required:

+ High School Diploma or GED + Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Vascular Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or a related field + Previous experience in a vascular lab or similar healthcare setting

Preferred:

+ Two years of vascular imaging experience + One year of medical office experience

Certifications and Licenses Required:

+ Registered Vascular Technologist, RVT + Basic Life Support certification from American Heart Association + Current certification or eligibility for certification from a recognized credentialing organization:

ARDMS or CCI Scheduling Requirements:

+ Day Shift +

Part-Time Essential Functions:

+ Assisting physicians with exams and procedures, preparing patients for examinations, taking vital signs e.g. blood pressure, temperature and educating patients about procedures and follow-up care + Administering medications or vaccines under the supervision of a healthcare professional + Changing dressings and providing wound care + Setting up and monitoring EKGs + Scheduling patient appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow + Maintaining medical supplies inventory and ensuring equipment is in good working order + Answering phones, greeting patients, and providing general administrative support + Explaining procedures, medications, and follow-up care to patients + Perform non-invasive vascular diagnostic tests such as Doppler ultrasound and plethysmography + Assist physicians in the monitoring and interpretation of vascular studies + Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures by explaining the process and addressing any concerns + Maintain and calibrate diagnostic equipment to ensure its proper functioning + Document patient information and test results accurately in medical records + Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans + Provide high-quality patient care and ensure patient comfort during procedures + Analyze and provide preliminary interpretations of test results to physicians + Maintain patient records in accordance with healthcare regulations + Stay up to date with the latest advancements in vascular technology and procedures + Follow all safety protocols and infection control guidelines during procedures + Educate patients and their families about vascular health and preventive measures + Participate in continuous education and training programs to enhance skills + Other duties as assigned
