Connecting. Growing together. The Ultrasound Technologist II isresponsible for maintenance of registration and active CME’s inultrasound in order to provide excellent service. This alsoincludes creating a tranquil environment, so patients will be ableto adhere to examination instructions.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Identify anatomical orientation on all required images and assuresproper file identification on all images
  • Demonstrate competencyperforming all diagnostic ultrasound procedures and the operationof all related equipment
  • Greet patients, obtain history, andenters information in computer system
  • Scan according toguidelines
  • Maintain logs; process paperwork for biopsies
  • Utilize sterile techniques preventing contamination
  • Maintainquality standards as it relates to HIPPA regulations
  • Responsiblefor all clinical aspects of ultrasonography suite; maintainscleanliness of examination rooms. Stock necessary medical andradiologic supplies
  • Assists in the completing of theaccreditation process for the American College of Radiology (ACR)every three years
  • Maintain CPR certification
  • Observe patientvital signs during examination
  • Provide coverage as needed (i.e.,in the event of call outs or extended patient schedules)
  • Provideinstruction/mentoring to new hires
  • Provide a positive patientexperience; share information with patients, providing knowledgeabout the procedure; ensuring they are aware of follow-up steps andrequirements
  • Maintain communication with radiologists and otherphysicians, patients and their families, and other persons
  • Consistently submit images of diagnostic quality withoutrecommendation of additional image acquisition; performs qualityassurance on images and equipment; demonstrated competency inutilizing systems
  • Contribute to efficient out-patient operations,maximizing the productivity of assigned modality
  • Review eachexamination for technical accuracy, present completed examinationsto radiologist, and communicates pertinent data to personresponsible for the care of patients following the procedure
  • Demonstrated teamwork; interacts in a positive manner withemployees and contributes to a collaborative work environment
  • Meet or exceed deadlines, follows through, demonstratingaccountability, flexibility and adaptability
  • Enhance professionalgrowth and maintain certifications, registration and active CME’sthrough education programs, conferences, and workshops
  • Acquirepatients’ chart date/requisition and reviews both to determinecorrect set-up and learn of any specific medical problems,contraindications to the study and verify that the study beingordered correlates to the diagnostic needs

RequiredQualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion ofan accredited course in ultrasonography
  • ARDMS (American Registryfor Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification
PreferredQualifications:
  • Associate degree or Baccalaureate degree inradiography or sonography
  • 5 years of experience as an UltrasoundTechnologist
  • Demonstrated ability to follow oral and writteninstructions
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with patients,visitors, and employees within the organization
  • Demonstratedability to adequately use, or learn to use, the department’scomputerized system and its associated devices
Physical Demands:
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Abilityto lift patients weighing up to 300 pounds and place them inappropriate positions for operation of equipment
  • Requireseyesight correctable to 20/20 to operate equipment and reviewdeveloped films The hourly range for this role is $28.

61 to $56.06per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on severalfactors including but not limited to local labor markets,education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Groupcomplies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
