Contract Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and certified Sonographer with expertise in both general and vascular ultrasound , with a special focus on women’s imaging , to support diagnostic services at a leading healthcare facility in Syracuse, NY. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills, excellent image acquisition abilities, and a commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform high-quality ultrasound and vascular studies independently, including exams related to women’s health Obtain and document relevant patient history and clinical data to support accurate imaging and diagnosis Ensure proper function, cleanliness, and maintenance of ultrasound equipment Analyze images and identify normal vs. abnormal findings using sound clinical judgment Communicate significant or urgent findings to the interpreting radiologist in a timely and professional manner Contribute to department operations including patient scheduling, workflow coordination, and quality control efforts
Required Qualifications:
Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited or CHEA/USDOE-recognized Diagnostic Medical Sonography program RDMS certification in Abdomen and OB/GYN (required) Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient imaging setting Proficiency in both general and vascular ultrasound procedures Ability to meet health screening and safety compliance standards
Preferred Attributes:
Additional registry in vascular technology ( RVT or RVS ) Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills A collaborative and detail-oriented approach to patient care Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
