Primary Responsibilities:
- Identify anatomical orientation on allrequired images and assures proper file identification on allimages
- Demonstrate competency performing all diagnosticultrasound procedures and the operation of all related equipment
- Greet patients, obtain history, and enters information in computersystem
- Scan according to guidelines
- Maintain logs; processpaperwork for biopsies
- Utilize sterile techniques preventingcontamination
- Maintain quality standards as it relates to HIPPAregulations
- Responsible for all clinical aspects ofultrasonography suite; maintains cleanliness of examination rooms.
Stock necessary medical and radiologic supplies
- Assists in thecompletion of the accreditation process for American College ofRadiology (ACR) every three years
- Maintain CPR certification
- Observe patient vital signs during examination
- Provide coverageas needed (i.e. in the event of call outs or extended patientschedules)
- Provide instruction/mentoring to new hires
- Provide apositive patient experience; share information with patients,providing knowledge about the procedure; ensuring they are aware offollow-up steps and requirements
- Maintain communication withradiologists and other physicians, patients and their families, andother persons
- Consistently submit images of diagnostic qualitywithout recommendation of additional image acquisition; performsquality assurance on images and equipment; demonstrates competencyin utilizing systems Contribute to efficient out-patientOperations, maximizing the productivity of assigned modality
- Review each examination for technical accuracy, presents completedexaminations to radiologist, and communicates pertinent data topersons responsible for the care of patients following theprocedure
- Demonstrate teamwork; interacts in a positive mannerwith employees and contributes to a collaborative work environment
- Meet or exceed deadlines, follows through, demonstratingaccountability, flexibility and adaptability
- Enhance professionalgrowth and maintain certifications, registration and active CME’sthrough education programs, conferences, and workshops
- Acquirepatients’ chart data/requisition and reviews both to determinecorrect room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems,contraindications to the study and verify that the study beingordered correlates to the diagnostic needs
- Educate patientsregarding procedure, equipment and exam to ensure understanding andsafety
- Contribute to efficient out-patient Operations, maximizingthe productivity of assigned modality
- Review each examination fortechnical accuracy, presents completed examinations to radiologist,and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the careof patients following the procedure
- Demonstrate teamwork;interacts in a positive manner with employees and contributes to acollaborative work environment
- Meet or exceed deadlines, followsthrough, demonstrating accountability, flexibility and adaptability
- Enhance professional growth and maintain certifications,registration and active CME’s through education programs,conferences, and workshops
- Acquire patients’ chartdata/requisition and reviews both to determine correct room set-upand learn of any specific medical problems, contraindications tothe study and verify that the study being ordered correlates to thediagnostic needs

Required Qualifications:
- High schooldiploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited course inultrasonography
- ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic MedicalSonography) certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associatedegree or Baccalaureate degree in radiography or sonography
- 2years of experience in ultrasonography
- MFM, Maternal FetalMedicine Technologist
- Proven ability to follow oral and writteninstructions
- Proven ability to communicate with patients,visitors, and employees within the organization
- Proven ability toadequately use, or learn to use, the department’s computerizedsystem and its associated devices
Physical Demands:
- Standing andwalking for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and carryitems weighting up to 50 pounds
- Ability to assist patientsweighing 300 pounds or more and place them in appropriate positionsfor the operation of equipment
- Eyesight correctable to 20/20 tooperate equipment and review images
New York Residents Only:
Thehourly range for this role is $28.03 to $54.95 per hour. Pay isbased on several factors including but not limited to local labormarkets, education, work experience, certifications, etc.
