Position Summary:
The Ultrasound Technologist (UT) will perform a variety ofplex specialized tasks utilizing ultrasonic high frequency sound waves to detect abnormalities. UT will perform procedures including but not limited to ultrasound procedures, color doppler vascular examinations, abdominal studies and color-flow ultrasound procedures as required. The UT will utilize accessory equipment such as transducers, ers, and PACS workstations. Other responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, explaining procedures to patients, reporting changes in patient condition to clinical staff, providing an oral and written summary of preliminary findings to the radiologist, evaluating the quality of sonograms and will determine if additional ultrasound procedures are indicated.
Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program and registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-S) required.
Experience:
Previous sonography experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in Vascular or must obtain registration within 18 months of employment..
