A Brief OverviewAccountable for theproficient operations of the radiographic procedures per physicianorders. May be responsible for areas of instruction and supervisionof students.
What you will do
- Performs various radiology procedures that produce examinationsof premium diagnostic quality according to established standardsand protocols.
Initiates proper intervention to radiologist or referringpractitioner when an exam indicates immediate attention. Reviews appropriate indications for exams ordered and reportsinappropriate indications to supervisor. Provides exam data in a complete and accurate format forpresentation to reading radiologist for interpretation. Utilizes computer systems such as;
PACS/RIS/HIS/EMR
systems andperforms general clerical duties. Archives image data for permanentstorage and appropriately sends images to radiologist group.
Retrieves stored images from PACS or disc back-up and make CDssuccessfully. Demonstrates an understanding of medical and legal implicationsand responsibilities related to the imaging reports and images toprotect the Patient and the Business/Institution. Maintains established department policies, procedures,objectives, quality assessment, safety, and environment andinfection control. Assists/mentors staff/student on-the-job training andorientation. Assists with analysis, collection and maintenance of records asrequired by department manager, Quality Improvement, JointCommission, MDH, ACR standards, OSHA guidelines or as may berequired by the facility or law.
