Veterinarian Ocala Veterinary Hospital 316 SE 12th Street, Ocala, FL 34471 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for animal care and welfare, along with the necessary skills to diagnose and treat a variety of animal health issues. This role requires excellent communication skills to educate pet owners on health and wellness practices while providing high-quality veterinary services in a supportive environment. Duties Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose any medical conditions. Administer vaccinations, medications, and treatments as prescribed. Perform surgical procedures and assist in anesthesia administration. Utilize veterinary terminology effectively when communicating with staff and pet owners. Provide guidance on pet grooming, nutrition, and overall care. Maintain accurate medical records for each patient. Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure optimal patient care. Educate pet owners on preventive care, including animal husbandry practices. Handle animals safely and humanely during examinations and procedures. Experience Candidates should possess the following skills and experience: Proficiency in animal handling techniques, including restraint methods for various species. Knowledge of animal physiology to understand health issues and treatment options. Experience with animal catheterization procedures is preferred. Familiarity with veterinary terminology to facilitate effective communication within the clinic. Previous experience in a veterinary setting is highly desirable, showcasing an understanding of animal care protocols. Skills in dog handling and grooming are considered a plus.
