  • Veterinarian Role Responsibilities
  • Develop a rapport with clients and determine their needs andwishes; perform physical examinations anddiagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that willdeliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stressand discomfort.
  • Explain physical examination findings and communicate to theclient a diagnosis of the pet’s problems; generate and present atreatment plan for the pet to the client; educate clients onpreventative health care, including vaccines and appropriatenutritional products.
  • Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certainall necessary logs are kept up-to-date through establishedprotocols; assist colleagues in follow-up and future management ofthe patient.
  • Stay up-to-date with new medical information and changes inveterinary medicine and attend Continuing Education meetings.
  • Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensurethe delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional clientservice.
  • Positively represent the hospital in the professional communityand to the general public.
  • Treat every client like family and each patient like your ownpet.
  • Veterinarian Role Requirements
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accrediteduniversity
  • Licensure in good standing to practice in the state in which theapplicant is applying
  • Professional comportment and appearance, with excellentinterpersonal skills and a positive, friendly attitude
  • The ability to make decisions and communicate clearly andeffectively with fellow team members
  • Respect for and willingness to work with clients and theirpets
  • Compassionate team player who can uphold a great reputation withclients
  • A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine,upholding the veterinary code of ethics
  • Proficiency in surgery is a plus
