Director of Racquets Minisink Swim & Racquet Club 1 Princeton St, Chatham, NJ 07928
Position Overview:
Minisink Swim and Racquet in Chatham is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Director of Racquets to lead and grow our racquet sports programs, including tennis (Har-Tru courts), paddle, and pickleball. This leadership role is ideal for a high-energy professional who is equally comfortable coaching on court, managing staff, and fostering a welcoming, community-driven environment.
Club Overview:
Located in Chatham, NJ Approximately 350 memberships (including 310 family memberships) 8 Har-Tru tennis courts 4 paddle courts Plans are underway for the addition of 4 pickleball courts
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Coaching Conduct private lessons and group clinics across all racquet sports with a focus ontennis, platform/paddle tennis, and pickleball. Coach and develop competitive ladies’ teams (tennis, paddle, and pickleball), fostering team spirit and improvement. Lead high-quality clinics for players of all levels, including junior and adult programming. Programming & Social Events Plan and execute a dynamic calendar of racquet socials , mixers, round robins, exhibitions, and seasonal tournaments. Collaborate with members to develop programs that meet their interests and ability levels. Promote participation and build a strong sense of community within the racquets program. Operations & Management Oversee the daily & seasonal operation of the tennis and paddle facilities, including Har-Tru court & paddle court maintenance & upkeep . Manage racquets staff, including assistant professionals and maintenance support. Work with the General Manager to develop long-term plans for racquet sports growth and enhancement. Member Relations & Club Culture Serve as the ambassador for the racquet sports program, providing outstanding hospitality and communication. Engage actively with members on and off the court to ensure high satisfaction and retention.
Qualifications:
5+ years of racquets leadership experience in a private club or high-end resort setting. Strong playing and teaching background in tennis and platform tennis ; pickleball experience is a plus. Proven experience coaching ladies’ competitive teams and running successful clinics. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills. USPTA or PTR certification

Competitive salary commensurate with experience Lesson commissions and programming incentives

$128,501.00 – $143,982.00 per year
