The Club’s golf course was designed by Donald Ross in 1913. Echo Lake Country Club was formed through the merger of the Cranford Golf Club and the Westfield Golf Club, and it boasts a family-oriented atmosphere, championship golf course, pool, and paddle program. A recent $12-million renovation has transformed the 30,000 square-foot Clubhouse into a vibrant hub, offering three bars, banquet facilities, multi-level dining, expansive patios, and breathtaking Manhattan Skyline views. In 2021, Echo Lake’s Clubhouse was honored with the “Clubhouse Renovation of the Year” award from Club Inc. Magazine. The Club maintains a substantial waitlist for membership and boasts a long-term employment history. We are seeking a part-time assistant professional to join our team. Our ideal candidate would possess a passion not only for the game, but for teaching and instilling that same passion in our over 120 paddle players.

The Role:

The Assistant Platform Tennis Professional reports directly to the Director of Racquets. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assisting with Team Practices for our 7 Ladies Teams. Assisting with the after-school Junior Paddle Program. Assisting with our Men’s evening Clinic Program. Providing Private Member and Group Lessons. Attending specific Paddle Social Events throughout the season. Coordinating with the Director of Racquets to ensure Member expectations are being met.

Assistant Platform Tennis Professional:

Demonstrates accomplishment in racquet sports, preferably in Platform Tennis. Has a minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably in Platform Tennis. Possesses outstanding communication and teaching skills. Has the ability to accommodate reasonable last minute schedule changes and requests. Has a desire to learn and further develop as a Paddle Professional. Inspires Members with lessons/drills that are both effective and fun. Must have a Certificate of Insurance.

Compensation:

The Assistant Platform Tennis Professional is an Independent Contractor.

Compensation includes:

A competitive half-year stipend. Hourly commission for Team practices and clinics. Hourly commission for both Private and Group Lessons.

Benefits:

Employee Meal- Club provides lunch when working on property. Uniform Allowance- Amount to be determined during budget process. Insurance Benefits are not offered for this position.
