The ideal candidate will have a passion for decorating cakes, cookies and various pastries with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics. As a Cake Decorator, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing and delicious cakes for various occasions, ensuring that each creation meets our high standards of quality and presentation. Duties Design and decorate cakes according to customer specifications and preferences for custom orders. Learn and understand our current processes and decorating techniques to ensure everyday items are completed with our traditional designs. Provide excellent customer service by interacting with clients to understand their needs and preferences. Utilize various techniques in icing, fondant application, and cake embellishments. Mix and prepare frosting colors and other components as needed. Ability to work in a timely manner through multiple tasks and prioritize orders. Capable of standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 50 lbs. Performs other tasks as assigned by managerial staff, including cleaning, packaging, etc. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area to adhere to food safety standards. Collaborate with the team to ensure timely completion of orders. Completes production and spoilage records, adjusting production records to maintain sufficient inventory Stay updated on industry trends in cake design and decoration techniques. Experience Previous experience in food preparation or culinary arts is preferred. Excellent cake decorating skills including spatula icing and piping techniques i.e. florals, foliage, borders, hand-writing, etc. Have an understanding of color theory as it pertains to blending buttercream colors and creating complementary palettes Familiarity with pastry techniques and cake decoration methods is essential. Knowledge of food safety practices is required. Strong customer service skills are important for interacting with clients effectively. Proficiency in using baking tools, including piping bags, stand mixers, spatulas and other decorating equipment.
