The Student Nutrition Aide (3.5 Hours) will assist during meal service, making it as pleasant as possible by ensuring compliance with health, safety, and school rules and regulations while circulating through the cafeteria
DISTRICT EXPECTATIONS

Responsibilities:
Manages students during meal service, referring any behavior problems to the teacher or principal according to the guidelines established by the individual school site. Circulates throughout the cafeteria assisting students, encouraging good table manners, and encouraging students to eat a balanced meal and try unfamiliar foods. Assists Student Nutrition Services (SNS) staff with student special diet requests, ensuring the students receive the correct food for any dietary or preference requests. Assists with food tastings by working with the SNS manager and staff in offering samples of new foods to students, encouraging them to try it, and soliciting their feedback. Prepares and cleans “allergy free” tables according to established procedures. Ensures the cafeteria tables are clean and free of spills and trash, and the cafeteria is ready for the next group of students after dismissing the classes in an orderly manner according to the school’s schedule. Performs any other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and tasks outlined in this document are not exhaustive and may change as determined by the needs of the district.

Reads and comprehends simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Mathematical Skills:
Adds and subtracts two digit numbers and multiplies and divides with 10s and 100s. Performs these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability:
Applies understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Deals with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
