As a baker at Snaks 5th Avenchew, you will prepare and bakes doughs and cookies using our specific recipes. You will be expected to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines, to provide decorators with fresh baked goods so that they can be completed for our in-store and online clientele. Responsibilities Prepares all doughs and provides quality products and service in all areas of baking production. Follow recipes and procedures to bake baked goods Ensure quality and consistency of baked goods Work within required production times to meet company standard Monitor baking times and temperatures independently Coordinate with the team to prioritize baking schedules Maintain company safety and cleanliness standards Meet mandatory health department and company food safety standards Use a variety of baking and kitchen equipment Sanitization and efficient cleaning of kitchen and baking equipment Qualifications Previous baking experience in a commercial kitchen Previous experience & comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of baking techniques and equipment Ability to work independently and efficiently Strong attention to detail Ability to stand for long periods of time for an 8-hour workday: standing/walking 6-8 hours Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following; Prepares all doughs and starters and provides quality products and service in all areas of baking production. Prepares all doughs and a variety of baked goods based on proven recipes and methodology. Experience Minimum of 6-12 months commercial kitchen experience Complete the Bakery Decorator Apprentice training program, or equivalent experience. Prior experience within a professional bakery or grocery bakery, preferred. Physical Requirements / Working Conditions Must be able to lift 50 pounds. In an 8-hour workday: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
Hand use:
single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
Work requires the following motions:
bending, twisting, squatting and reaching. Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
Exposure to temperatures:
90 degrees Fahrenheit. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, mixers, sheeters and other heavy machinery. May require use of ladders or step ladders.
