Availability Required:

Mustbe able to work between the hours of 8:00am-10:00pm during the weekand the weekends. Job Summary Proofs and bakes all unfinishedbakery goods by following each item’s product handling informationusing ovens and/or other equipment. Unpacks bakery goods from thefreezer and displays proper amounts based on bakery productionchart recommendations, including safe handling and storageinstructions. Maintains all cleaning and safety standards withinthe bakery department.

Answers Member calls and takes special orders. Proofs and bakes allunfinished bakery goods by following each item’s product handlinginformation using ovens and/or other equipment. Uses bakeryproduction charts as a guide for production and display needs.

Gathers products to be prepared for the next business day. Packagesfreshly baked goods, including cookies, Danish pastries, muffins,rolls, breads, pies, cakes, and other items as needed. Unpacksbakery goods from the freezer and displays proper amounts based onbakery production chart recommendations. Decorates special order orcase product. Rotates and stores bakery products following properwork methods on food safety, food freshness, and product handlingpolicies and procedures. Receives, inspects, and stores bakeryshipments. Rotates and stores bakery products following foodsafety, food freshness, and product handling policies andprocedures. Ensures that all products are fresh and meet companyquality standards. Checks for out-of-date products daily andfollows salvage and stale product policies and procedures.

Generates labels and price tickets for bakery goods and performsprice check functions when necessary. Ensures all items areaccurately priced. Cleans and sanitizes equipment, displayfixtures, and food surfaces in the bakery, including ovens, cookingutensils, refrigerated cases, display racks, and tables. Operatesand handles bakery equipment using proper work methods inaccordance with safety policies and procedures. Maintains all clubpolicies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned,including working in other departments as needed. Regular,predictable, full attendance is an essential function of this job.

Qualifications Experience working in a bakery or customer serviceoriented environment preferred. Knowledge of bakery productspreferred. At least 18 years of age. Environmental Job ConditionsMost of the time is spent moving about non hard surfaces. There maybe a need to occasionally position oneself to examine or scanmerchandise, which can require bending, handling, pulling,reaching, pushing and/or stooping. Frequently requires liftingobjects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavyand/or awkward objects greater than 30 pounds with assistance.

Located in a comfortable indoor environment with frequent exposureto temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers. Theremay be frequent exposure to cleaning agents. In accordance with thePay Transparency requirements, the following represents a goodfaith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’sWholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range ofnon-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salarieswill vary depending on factors including but not limited tolocation, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay rangefor this position is $16.75-$20.10.
