Assistant Baker/ Baker Plume Café Newburyport, MA 01950 Job Overview We are looking for an independent, responsible, and flexible person to join our team and help with the daily baking at our coffee shop. If you have a passion for food and love creating both sweet and savoury treats, as well as maintaining a clean and organised workspace. The goal is for you to fully take over baking responsibilities by the fall. We’d love to hear from you! Responsibilities Assist with daily baking of our menu, which includes a variety of sweet and savory items. Manage your own schedule, ensuring all baking tasks are completed on time. Work independently as well as alongside our main baker. Flexibility to adapt to varying hours based on the season (typically 15-30 hours per week). Utilize kitchen tools and equipment safely, including knives and mixers. Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency in product quality. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards. Qualifications No formal baking training required, but a genuine love for food is essential. As well as basic culinary skills, including knife skills and food preparation techniques. Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations. A responsible and self-motivated attitude. Flexibility in hours and tasks. Ability to manage time effectively and work efficiently. Strong communication skills for remote work when applicable.
