Position Overview:
Join the Apple Crate Naturals kitchen team as our Baker and bring your skills to our from-scratch bakery! In this role, you’ll create high-quality baked goods using clean ingredients, including fresh breads for our Sandwich Program and a variety of scratch-made desserts. We offer something for everyone, with options that include vegan and wheat-free treats—all crafted with care and attention to detail. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing the bakery production schedule, following our recipes precisely, troubleshooting issues as we perfect our recipes, and ensuring consistency in each batch. Your attention to detail will help us minimize waste and maximize the freshness of our offerings. From preparing the dough in the morning to packaging and displaying the final product, you will help ensure our customers enjoy the best baked goods possible. You’ll also play a key role in maintaining a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all equipment is sanitized, and ingredients are stored properly. In collaboration with our kitchen team, you will support the growth of our bakery offerings, providing feedback to the Kitchen Supervisor and making sure the bakery runs smoothly. Responsibilities:
Lead the daily production of baked goods and breads, following recipes and batch sizes with precision. Ensure all products meet our high standards for quality, presentation, and taste. Manage inventory levels of baking ingredients, and communicate any needs to the Kitchen Manager to ensure timely restocking. Maintain an organized, clean, and sanitary bakery environment, adhering to health and safety standards. Collaborate with the kitchen team to support recipe development and new product offerings aligned with our commitment to clean ingredients. Assist with packaging, labeling, and setting up bakery displays, ensuring all products are attractively presented and available for customers. Provide feedback to the Kitchen Supervisor and assist with batch documentation and bakery logs.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in from-scratch baking, preferably with a focus on clean ingredients, vegan, and wheat-free products. Strong troubleshooting skills with regard to baked goods. Attention to detail, with the ability to follow recipes and batch sizes exactly. Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle production in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of food safety and kitchen sanitation practices. A team-oriented attitude, with strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other kitchen staff. Why Join Us?
