West Cape May, Beach Plum Farm Café is a seasonally driven bakery and café that highlights fresh, local ingredients from our own fields and nearby farms. We are expanding our bakery program and are seeking a passionate Assistant Baker to join our small, dedicated team in crafting high-quality, handmade baked goods.

Position Overview:

As an Assistant Baker, you will work closely with our lead baker to prepare a variety of artisan breads, pastries, and other baked items.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare breads, muffins, cookies, pies, cakes, pastries, and doughnuts using traditional, small-batch methods Follow established recipes with attention to detail and consistency Review daily production schedules and coordinate prep with the kitchen team Maintain a clean and organized kitchen station, including equipment and tools Monitor inventory and communicate ordering needs to the Bakery Manager Complete daily production logs and quality checks Support special menu needs including dietary accommodations Uphold health and food safety standards at all times Assist with miscellaneous baking tasks and team projects as assigned

Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year of baking experience Strong attention to detail and time management skills Positive attitude with a passion for food and hospitality Open availability, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods Comfortable working in varying temperature conditions (hot ovens, coolers, etc.) Preferred but not required: Cake decorating experience Familiarity with farm-to-table or seasonal baking
