Job Description
Baker The Hive Hoboken, NJ 07030 We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Baker to join our team. As a member of our baking team and in this dual role, you will play a crucial part in our kitchen, ensuring our in-house recipes are made up to the high standards we’ve laid in place, and in our FOH role, you will serve as lead baker for our most popular baked goods, cinnamon rolls Fridays
- Sundays.

Kitchen Responsibilities:
- Prepare a variety of recipes according to in-house specifications
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment at all times
- Clean and maintain baking equipment and work areas
- Collaborate with the team to plan and execute catering orders
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
- Contribute to the development of new menu items
- Assist with prepping and loading the weekly delivery to our retail shops
- Maintain clean, sanitary work environment during shifts and at the close of shifts.
Front-of-House Responsibilities:
- Prepare fresh cinnamon rolls throughout service hours, beginning at 5am Friday
- Sunday.
- Ensure quality standards are met, as they pertain to the products you serve.
- Keep baking area is clean and organized, follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Clean and prepare for next day’s service of cinnamon rolls, as needed.
- Maintain clean, sanitary work environment during shifts and at the close of shifts.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of professional baking experience.
- Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient functions, and food safety practices.
- Ability to work early morning shifts and weekends is required.
- Food handler’s certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days.)
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods Preferred qualifications:
- Culinary school training or formal baking education
- Experience with doughs and pastry production
- Hospitality experience
Schedule:
full-time position requiring early morning and weekend availability, with flexibility for additional hours within production kitchen.
