Position Overview:
The Ice Cream Maker is responsible for preparing and producing small-batch, high-quality ice cream and sorbet according to our proprietary recipes and production standards. This role involves both creative and technical work, including measuring ingredients, operating equipment, and maintaining cleanliness and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare ice cream and sorbet using company recipes and techniques Measure, mix, and pasteurize ingredients with precision and consistency Operate and clean ice cream making equipment (batch freezers, mixers, etc.) Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of all frozen products Monitor texture, taste, and quality of every batch produced Maintain strict food safety and cleanliness standards Track production inventory and communicate when ingredients need to be reordered Assist with developing new seasonal or special flavors as needed Work with the front-of-house team to meet customer demand during peak hours
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a kitchen, bakery, or food production environment preferred Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (ServSafe certified a plus) Strong attention to detail and consistency Ability to work independently and manage production timelines Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods Creative, dependable, and passionate about quality desserts Flexible availability including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
