POSITION PURPOSE
The Barista is responsible for making quality beverages, generally specialty hot drinks, preparing food orders, servicing grab and go food items, limited alcoholic beverages, working POS terminal, and cleaning and stocking the store. Baristas must do all these tasks quickly and efficiently while also making sure to form and maintain good guest relationships.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Greet guests, take their orders, and use excellent time management and organizational skills to prepare and serve coffee, blended coffee, cold drinks, teas, espresso, pastries, cookies and other sweets and drinks. Educate customers about our drinks, treats, and other products, and serve as a resource for people wanting to develop or improve coffee-tasting skills and knowledge. Properly handle and maintain all equipment. Respond to orders, questions, concerns, and complaints in a polite and efficient manner. Accurately handle cash and credit card payments, following appropriate cash-handling procedures Serve customers quickly and efficiently. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all the menu offerings. Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls. Taking inventory and replenishing items in display cases, at tables, or behind the counter. Ensure that all spills and breakages are attended to immediately. Performs other related duties as assigned by F&B Management.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in food and beverage preparation or customer service preferred. Ability to read and speak English proficiently. Strong ability to multi-task. Basic mathematical skills. Ability to problem solve quickly. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to follow directions. Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods. Commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence.
