Barista and Cashier Position Available In Miami-Dade, Florida

Barista and Cashier Java Jive Hannibal, MO 63401 We are looking for a Barista to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages and prepare quick service food such as sandwiches and salads. Barista responsibilities include educating customers on our menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders. To be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills and knowledge of how to serve food and beverages properly. You should be able to work various shifts. Ultimately, you’ll ensure an excellent dining experience for our guests.

Note:

this position’s compensation includes hourly pay plus tips which average $5-$7 additional per hour. Responsibilities Greet customers as they enter Direct customers to our menus and answer their questions regarding ingredients Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios) Prepare beverages following recipes Serve beverages and prepared food, like cookies, pastries and muffins Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards) Keep the bar area clean Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs Prepare quick service foods such as salads, sandwiches, and wraps Comply with health and safety regulations Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items Skills Previous work experience as a Barista or Waiter/Waitress is preferred but not required Knowledge of sanitation regulations Flexibility to work various shifts Basic math skills Ability to gauge customers’ preferences Excellent communication skills High school diploma and relevant training are a plus, but not required At Java Jive we take the time to thoroughly train all new employees. New employees will go through a 2-3 week training program before being assigned regularly scheduled shifts. We want to ensure that all new employees are given the proper time to learn our recipes and procedures and are confident in their abilities to perform their new job requirements.
