Counterperson/Barista Bagel Barn Cafe & Deli Edgewater, FL 32132 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Counter Person/Barista to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service in a fast-paced café environment. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that every customer has a positive experience while efficiently managing orders and maintaining the cleanliness of the counter area. Duties Greeting customers in a friendly manner and taking food and drink orders Preparing and serving beverages such as drip coffee, espresso-based drinks, tea and other specialty drinks Serving food items such as breakfast sandwiches, deli sandwiches and items from the grill Answering customers’ questions about menu choices Promoting and recommending menu options to customers Taking payment from customers Tracking inventory for cafe and beverage supplies, such as coffee beans, milk, napkins and cups Maintaining espresso machines, grinders, coffee machines and other equipment by cleaning, troubleshooting and scheduling repairs Keeping the work environment and cafe seating area clean, sanitary and organized Responding to and resolving customer concerns or complaints Evaluating and modifying processes to improve efficiency and quality of service Attracting new customers and refining the menu Experience Previous experience in customer service or food service is preferred. Familiarity with POS or similar point-of-sale systems is a plus. Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately. Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices in the food industry is essential. Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a busy environment. Passion for coffee and café culture is highly desirable. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
