- Student Assistant is responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing high-quality beverages and food items, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace at our Russel Union Starbucks location.
This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to delivering a positive experience to students, faculty, and guests. Ideal candidates are dependable, energetic, and eager to learn about coffee preparation and customer service while balancing their academic responsibilities. Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period. Responsibilities
Greet customers and deliver friendly, personalized service
Prepare and serve Starbucks beverages and food items per standards
Operate espresso machines, blenders, and brewing equipment
Accurately take and process orders using the POS system
Maintain a clean and organized workstation
Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
Assist with stocking and rotating inventory
Work efficiently during peak hours to reduce wait times
Engage with customers and answer menu questions
Handle cash and card transactions responsibly
Support coworkers and contribute to a team environment Shift Specifics Minimum 15 hours, up to 25 hours per week

Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.
Preferred Qualifications Preferred Experience Previous barista or food service experience
