PMA Cafe Associate Black Tie Catering & Events 7 Congress Square, Portland, ME 04101 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Associate to join our team at the PMA cafe at the Portland Art Museum. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring a clean and organized environment, and providing top notch food, coffee and beverages for customers . The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a single person operation. Duties Greet customers warmly and assist them with their inquiries or purchases. Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions. Prepare customers purchases in line with company standards Working hand in had with the museum and their staff to continue growth for both sides of the business. Handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining cash handling protocols. Assist in upselling products to enhance customer experience and increase sales. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the cafe area. Support inventory management by restocking shelves and organizing products. Utilize time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively throughout the shift. Qualifications Previous experience in a Cafe/coffee shop setting is preferred. Familiarity with POS systems is advantageous. Ability to upsell products through effective communication and persuasion techniques. Experience in food handling is a plus. A commitment to maintaining high sanitation standards in all areas of responsibility. Must be a team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
