Barista/Cashier Sandhills Community College Cafe 3395 Airport Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374 Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will be the face of our coffee shop, responsible for creating exceptional beverages and providing outstanding customer service. You will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that each customer has a memorable experience while enjoying their favorite drinks and snacks. Responsibilities Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, ensuring quality and consistency in every cup. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including equipment and utensils. Assist with food preparation and handling, adhering to food safety standards. Operate the Square POS system for order processing and payment transactions. Engage with customers to take orders, provide recommendations, and ensure satisfaction. Handle cash and perform basic math calculations for accurate transactions. Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking supplies as needed. Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive work environment and efficient workflow. Skills Previous experience in the food industry is preferred but not required. Strong food preparation and handling skills, with knowledge of food safety practices. Familiarity with Square POS or similar point-of-sale systems is a plus. Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately. Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods effectively. Strong sales skills to promote menu items and enhance customer experience. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while maintaining individual accountability.
