Barista and Cashier Grill & Go Deli 3212 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh, NC 27607 Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Barista to join our team in creating exceptional coffee experiences for our customers. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of beverages, maintaining a clean and inviting café environment, and providing outstanding customer service. Duties Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and other beverages according to established recipes and standards. Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process customer orders and handle cash transactions accurately. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including equipment, utensils, and seating areas to ensure compliance with food safety standards. Engage with customers in a friendly manner, providing recommendations based on their preferences while promoting sales of food items and beverages. Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies; assist in ordering stock as needed. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods while maintaining high-quality service standards. Requirements Previous experience in food service or the café industry is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided. Strong math skills for handling cash transactions accurately; basic math knowledge is essential. Familiarity with coffee preparation techniques and equipment is a plus; enthusiasm for learning about different coffee varieties is encouraged. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively; sales experience is beneficial. Knowledge of food safety practices to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers. Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
