Barista/Cashier The Residence Inn Downtown 616 South Salisbury Street, Raleigh, NC 27601 Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our vibrant café team. As a Barista, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while expertly preparing and serving high-quality coffee and beverages. Your knowledge of the food industry and commitment to exceptional customer service will help enhance our guests’ experience. Duties Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other specialty drinks according to established recipes and standards. Operate the Aloha POS system efficiently for order taking and cash handling. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including food preparation areas, equipment, and customer seating. Ensure adherence to food safety and handling guidelines to maintain a safe environment for both staff and customers. Assist with inventory management, including ordering supplies as needed and ensuring proper stock levels. Engage with customers in a friendly manner, providing recommendations based on their preferences while fostering a positive café atmosphere. Perform basic math calculations for cash handling and transactions accurately. Qualifications Previous experience in the food industry or as a Barista is preferred but not required. Familiarity with cash handling procedures and experience using POS systems (Aloha POS experience is a plus). Strong understanding of food safety practices and food preparation techniques. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment. A genuine passion for coffee and knowledge of various brewing methods is advantageous. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail. Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
