Barista Barrister Coffee House 96 South Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920 Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and customer-oriented Barista to join our team as a permanent member – applicants must possess at least one full year of hands-on barista experience and be available beyond summer. As a Barista, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items. Your ability to engage with customers, handle cash transactions, and maintain a clean workspace will contribute to the overall success of our café. Duties Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and standards. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly and taking their orders accurately. Handle cash transactions efficiently, ensuring accurate cash handling and register operations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including workstations, equipment, and dining spaces. Assist with inventory management by restocking supplies as needed and reporting any shortages. Operate POS systems effectively, including Aloha POS, to process orders and payments. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods. Adhere to food safety regulations and proper food handling practices at all times. Experience Previous experience of at least one full year as a barista is required. References must be available for contact if the job is offered. Must be able to commit beyond summer. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers. Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately. Experience with cash handling and sales is advantageous. Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Aloha POS, is a plus but can be trained on the job.
