Barista/Cashier Owlee Cafe & Studio 211 Franklin Street, Brooklyn, NY 11222 Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and customer-oriented Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and a commitment to providing excellent service in a fast-paced café environment. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring customer satisfaction while adhering to food safety standards.

FOOD HANDLER CERTIFICATE IS REQUIRED

Duties Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and customer preferences. Operate the POS system for processing orders and handling cash transactions efficiently. Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including equipment, utensils, and seating areas, following food safety guidelines. Engage with customers to provide exceptional service, take orders accurately, and address any inquiries or concerns. Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of coffee beans, syrups, and other supplies. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours. Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and preparation. Experience Previous experience in the food service industry is preferred, particularly in a café or coffee shop setting. Familiarity with cash handling procedures and operating cash registers or POS systems. Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and beverage preparation is a plus. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety practices.
