We are opening a small grab-and-go shack in Midtown Manhattan, with not just our signature tacos, but a big menu of delicious food, fancy matcha lattes and more. The Role Take customer orders and communicate with back of house staff Handle POS transactions and take customer payments Hand orders to customers Assemble matcha lattes, teas, and other beverages following Uptaco’s operating guidelines Pack orders for pickup/delivery Maintain a high standard of customer service throughout the day Commit to learning the Uptaco menu Merchandise & stock food & drinks as needed throughout the day Opening / closing / cleaning and organizational procedures Perks Estimated $20+ per hour including tips, with a starting base rate of $16 per hour Free tacos! Opportunity for growth – we are a young, fast moving company that will promote top performers as we grow Job Requirements Essential Functions Engage with guests in a professional, welcoming manner Communicate clearly with customers and team members Adhere to Uptaco’s standards of engagement for all service techniques Provide friendly, attentive customer service to all guests, including eye contact, respectable conversation, and smiling Ensure the highest standards of safety and hygiene are maintained Follow all Department of Health standards, including personal hygiene practices Perform other related activities as assigned Qualifications & Educational Requirements Department of Health Food Handlers Card preferred One to three years previous experience preferred Strong organizational and verbal communication skills; strong customer service background Outgoing, friendly disposition for guest relations Appropriately groomed for direct engagement with clientele Exposure to cleaning chemicals, ability to lift up to 20 pounds, ability to sit and stand as required Application Instructions Upon submitting your resume, please let us know why you’d like to be a part of the Uptaco team and what makes you right for this role!
