We are looking for someone to work part time ( 15-20 hours a week initially ). Great opportunity for students or as a second job to make good extra money. We are looking to hire someone part time. Hours are flexible and can be a combination of afternoon (10-4pm) or early morning (4:00-10:00am). Open to working with your schedule. Excellent customer service skills are a must, barista experience is preferred- but not necessary with the right attitude and work ethic Advertised hourly rate does not include the unlimited potential for tips !!!! Tipshare WILL increase rate significantly We are looking for a Barista to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea. Barista responsibilities include educating customers on our drinks menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders. To be successful in this role, you should have excellent customer service skills and knowledge of how brewing equipment operates. You should be able to work various shifts.

Responsibilities Greet customers as they enter Give customers drink menus and answer their questions regarding ingredients Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios) Prepare beverages following recipes Serve beverages and prepared food, like cookies, pastries and muffins Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards) Keep the bar area clean Maintain stock of all disposables and consumables Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs Comply with health and safety regulations Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items Skills Previous work experience as a Barista or Waiter/Waitress Hands-on experience with brewing equipment Knowledge of sanitation regulations Flexibility to work various shifts Basic math skills Ability to gauge customers’ preferences Excellent communication skills High school diploma; relevant training is a plus Candidate should have customer service experience, barista experience and potential for references from previous employers. Must be able to work independently or alongside others in a collaborative environment and have an outgoing personality and must have excellent interpersonal skills in order to interact with airport patrons and airport staff while also functioning as a barista. Must be able to pass FBI and TSA background check for security clearance at the airport. This process does take a week or 2- and therefore there will be a short waiting period before you are able to start. Promotes coffee consumption by educating customers; selling coffee, and discussing coffee grinding and brewing equipment, accessories, and supplies; preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks, teas, etc. All products will have a special connection to South Carolina and will promote Columbia and South Carolina to the general airport clientele . Must be able to responsibly manage a P.O.S.system and be able to multitask while making drinks and serving customers. This includes keeping the work station clean and representing not only yourself, but the coffee company, the airport and the city of Columbia in a professional manner.
