Overview We are seeking at least one or two baristas to join our team here at Honest Coffee. As a barista, you will play a crucial role in curating quality coffee at one of the highest volume cafes this side of Tennessee! We are seeking out proactive, efficient, communicative, and genuine folks who have a passion for both curating and cultivating coffee. Duties Timeliness Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks and beverages according to established recipes and customer preferences. Operate the espresso machine and other café equipment efficiently while maintaining cleanliness. Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and addressing inquiries or concerns. Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and operating the POS system (Toast POS). Maintain inventory levels by restocking supplies as needed and assisting with inventory management. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in food handling and preparation. Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during peak hours while maintaining quality standards. Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment that fosters teamwork and communication. Requirements Previous experience in third-wave coffee is preferred, but not a must. Some barista experience required. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse clientele. Basic math skills for cash handling and retail transactions; familiarity with retail math is a plus. Knowledge of coffee types, brewing methods, and beverage preparation techniques is desirable. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed. A passion for coffee culture and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. Starting pay will be $13 with a bumped pay of $14 hourly after completion of specific modules and tests regarding the vernacular and techniques required to showcase our coffee for the clientele we serve.
