Horse Barn Assistant Peck’s Farm and Equestrian Center, LLC Columbia, CT 06237 About Peck’s Farm & Equestrian Center We are a horse boarding and training facility located in Columbia, CT. We pride ourselves on being a welcoming community of funny, upbeat, and enthusiastic equestrians! We’re looking for someone who is kind, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and consistently delivers high-quality work they’re proud of. Prefer an experienced horse person to perform general horse barn work at our farm. Potential for advancement . Must feel comfortable handling green horses and be able to lift ~50 pounds consistently, walk long distances and stand for entire shift.
Responsibilities:
Handling and turning out/in horses, including green and young horses Feeding, watering, mucking stalls, paddocks, and run-in sheds Cleaning, raking, and maintaining barn areas Grooming and tacking up horses Monitoring animal health and ensuring excellent daily care
Skills:
Experience handling and caring for equines Team Player Highly organized with effective communication skills Reliable, attends work as scheduled Mature, dependable, and responsible
Prior Experience Preferred:
direct horse care, management, and handling This center is affiliated with the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.) and the Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA).
