Assistant Sommelier Amal 3480 Main Highway, Miami, FL 33133 Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Sommelier to join our fine dining establishment. The ideal candidate will possess a deep knowledge of wines and beverages, along with exceptional customer service skills. As a Sommelier, you will enhance our guests’ dining experience by providing expert wine recommendations, managing our wine inventory, and ensuring the highest standards of service in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Curate and maintain an extensive wine list that complements the restaurant’s menu. Provide personalized wine recommendations to guests based on their preferences and meal choices. Conduct wine tastings and educate staff on wine selections to enhance their knowledge and sales techniques. Oversee the proper storage and handling of wines to ensure optimal quality. Collaborate with the culinary team to create harmonious pairings between food and wine. Assist in meal preparation as needed, ensuring that all food safety standards are met. Utilize Aloha POS system for processing orders efficiently and accurately. Engage with guests to provide exceptional customer service, enhancing their overall dining experience. Participate in menu planning by suggesting beverage pairings that elevate the culinary offerings. Qualifications Proven experience as Assistant Sommelier or in a similar role within a fine dining restaurant setting. Strong knowledge of wines, including regions, varietals, and tasting notes. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on upselling and enhancing guest experiences. Familiarity with food safety regulations and culinary practices. Experience using Aloha POS system is preferred but not required. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
