The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of wines and beverages, along with the ability to enhance the dining experience for our guests through expert recommendations and pairings. As a Sommelier, you will play a crucial role in creating an exceptional atmosphere in our restaurant, ensuring that each guest receives personalized service tailored to their preferences. Responsibilities Curate and maintain an extensive wine list that complements the restaurant’s menu. Provide expert wine recommendations to guests based on their preferences and meal choices. Conduct wine tastings and training sessions for staff to enhance their knowledge and service skills. Oversee the proper storage and handling of wines to ensure optimal quality. Assist in managing inventory, including ordering and restocking wine supplies. Collaborate with the culinary team to create harmonious food and wine pairings. Deliver exceptional customer service by engaging with guests and addressing any inquiries regarding the beverage offerings. Handle cash transactions accurately using the POS system while ensuring compliance with food handling regulations. Skills Strong background in the food industry, particularly within restaurants or bars. Experience in bartending or beverage service is highly desirable. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction. Proficient in cash handling procedures and financial transactions. Knowledge of culinary principles related to food and beverage pairing. Proven sales skills with the ability to promote wine selections effectively. Familiarity with food handling practices to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
